What skills and experience we're looking for

We are seeking an enthusiastic person, to facilitate our breakfast club provision 5 mornings per week for around 20 pupils per day, within a team of two. The role will include setting up games and activities and engaging with children to ensure play is positive and enriching. During the club, children are also offered breakfast and staff will be expected to make, serve and supervise this.

The role is ideal for someone who is seeking further school experience.

Due to the age of the children, the suitable candidate must have a minimum of a teaching assistant level 2 qualification, or equivalent.

Main responsibilities of the role are:

  • To monitor and record registers to manage breakfast club attendance

  • Supervision, organisation and safeguarding (including first aid and food hygiene) of children at breakfast club

  • Set up, organise, manage and clear away resources and materials

  • Organise and be active in developing interactive activities for the children during play and ensuring children are positively engaging in play.

  • Encourage and facilitate positive social experiences for children.

  • To assist as required to ensure a calm, clean environment in the breakfast club room.

The successful candidate will be friendly, have good communication skills as well as the ability to adapt their approach to suit the needs, different personalities and interests of the children. We are looking for a team member who can:

  • Bring ideas and direction to develop the quality of the breakfast club.
