What skills and experience we're looking for

We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic Building Maintenance Officer to support the overall maintenance and security of the school building(s) by carrying out general caretaking duties, responding to requests from staff and the line manager with regard to repairs and maintenance, redecoration and other general work within the capacities and training of the post holder.

The successfully candidate will be expected to carry out minor cleaning duties as required during operational hours, including ensuring school grounds are clear of litter and hazardous materials. Conduct and record regular testing of alarms in school building(s). They will also be responsible for the security of the school building(s) and their contents. Work with and in co-operation with cleaning staff employed by a third-party contractor. Work with contractors during the school holidays directing any planned work during this period. Any other duties of a similar nature related to the post, which may be required from time to time.
