• Working pattern: Full time: Monday to Friday. Responsible for the site management of a one form entry primary school. 7:30am until 5:30pm split shift ( break for lunch). 52 weeks per year, 37 hours per week. Holiday entitlement 26 days (under 5years) or 31 days (over 5years).

• Full time equivalent salary: 26,403 - 28,598
• Pay scale: Grade 7 - 12

What skills and experience we're looking for

The Governors at Norton Free Primary School are seeking to employ a permanent buildings supervisor to start before October half term or as soon as possible thereafter following the retirement of our current post holder. You will be responsible for the day-to-day caretaking, security, maintenance and general upkeep of the school site, ensuring the school remains safe, clean and welcoming for pupils, staff and visitors.

We are seeking a reliable, punctual, hardworking and committed individual with experience of providing comprehensive site support including security, health and safety, routine maintenance, contractor management and grounds management. You should be highly dependable with a strong work ethic and a proven ability to maintain safe, clean and welcoming environments for pupils, staff, visitors and colleagues. Confident working independently and as part of a team, with excellent practical skills and a flexible approach to day-to-day responsibilities.

KEY DUTIES

• School caretaking and premises management
• Site security and key holding
• Opening and securing the school site
• Complete regular Health & safety checks and ensure compliance
• Carry out Fire alarm testing and Routine site inspections
• Carry out general maintenance and minor repairs
• Identify and report potential maintenance and safety issues.
• Manage Contractors attending the school management and control site access
• Grounds and external area maintenance
• Set up rooms for school activities and events/Move furniture and equipment as required
• Facilities management including line managing cleaners
• Stock control and stores management
• Deliveries and logistics
• Documentation and record keeping
• Customer service and communication
• Health & safety awareness
• Teamwork and independent working
• Reliable and punctual
• Strong practical skills

What the school offers its staff

We offer the opportunity to work as part of a friendly team in a one-form entry primary school in the South West of Sheffield. You will be a key part of the staff team.

Full time 37 hours per week, 52 weeks per year with 26 - 31 days holiday per year depending on experience/time in post. Training for a less experienced candidate can be provided.

Norton free C of E Primary school is a friendly, one form entry primary school with 208 children from FS to Y6. The school has a real 'family feel'. We were judged to be 'good' in June 2023 by Ofsted. We are an oversubscribed school in the Norton area of Sheffield (South West) with fantastic grounds and a caring and dedicated staff team. We are a church school (voluntary controlled) and we have links with the local church and a daily Collective Act of Worship. This is such a lovely school to be a part of with fabulous children and lovely parents who support. We are a strong, happy team and encourage those with a sense of humour and a sense of perspective to apply.
