Kingfisher Primary Academy is looking for a dedicated, proactive and enthusiastic Building Officer to help us maintain a warm, safe and inspiring environment for our pupils, staff and visitors.

Position Details

Position: Building Officer
Location: Kingfisher Primary Academy, Doncaster
Salary: SCP 12-16 (£28,598 - £30,518 FTE)
Contract: Permanent, 52 weeks per year
Hours: 20 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 1:30pm to 5:30pm

What You'll Be Doing

As our Building Officer, you'll play a key role in the day-to-day running of the school. Working closely with the Principal and Senior Leadership Team, you will:

  • Support the efficient and effective operation of the school site.
  • Ensure our buildings and grounds are clean, secure, safe and well-presented at all times.
  • Carry out or oversee general maintenance and repairs, including minor plumbing, decorating and electrical works.
  • Monitor and help ensure compliance with health and safety requirements.
  • Oversee cleaning staff and external contractors where required.
  • Contribute to creating a safe, welcoming environment where children can learn, thrive and succeed.
  • Take pride in maintaining a high-quality learning environment for all authorised users of the site.

Kingfisher Primary Academy is a thriving two-form entry primary school with a 52-place nursery, located in the heart of Doncaster and easily accessible from the M18 and A1 motorway network. Kingfisher is a fantastic academy that places great importance on the success of its pupils. Children are assessed regularly and effective support ensures children make progress. An innovative curriculum has been designed to ensure that children take part in exciting lessons and that they play an active part in their own learning. A number of extra curricular clubs ensure that children have access to a range of enriching activities.

As an academy we love working with parents and have an increasing army of volunteer helpers who support us during the school day. We value the opinions of children in school and they have their own council. The council has regular meetings and discuss a wide range of issues.

Kingfisher is a two form entry academy (420 places) with a 52 place nursery.
