Buildings Officer - Greengate Lane Academy
Location: Sheffield
Contract: Permanent, Part-Time (15hrs per week) working times can be flexible for the right person.
Greengate Lane Academy is seeking a reliable, proactive Buildings Officer to join our dedicated team. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a vital role in maintaining a safe, welcoming, and well-functioning school environment for our children, staff, and wider community.
As Buildings Officer, you will take pride in ensuring the academy site is clean, secure, and well-maintained. You’ll work closely with school leaders and the Astrea Estates Team to support day-to-day operations, health and safety compliance, and site development.
Key Responsibilities:- Ensure the school site is safe, secure, and well-presented at all times.
- Carry out routine maintenance, repairs, and site checks.
- Monitor and support health and safety procedures, including fire safety and risk assessments.
- Liaise with contractors and suppliers as needed.
- Support with deliveries, room setups, and general site logistics.
- Respond to emergencies and ensure the site is accessible during adverse weather.
- A practical, hands-on individual with a strong sense of responsibility.
- Experience in site maintenance or facilities management (school experience desirable but not essential).
- Good communication and organisational skills.
- A commitment to safeguarding and creating a safe environment for children.
- Someone who takes pride in their work and enjoys being part of a supportive team.
