Business Administration job summary
We are seeking to appoint a friendly and professional Administrator whose role is to deliver support to all aspects of business management. The role is part time, covering the hours of 8:00 – 4:00pm Monday, 9:30-14:30 Tuesday-Friday.
Orchard is a forward-thinking school, with friendly staff and wonderful young people. Your work will make an impact on students’ experience of school, and will support students to achieve better, by supporting the Business Administration team whose responsibility is to ensure the school runs smoothly.
This role is wide-ranging and will involve raising orders and processing deliveries, receiving monies and monitoring our electronic payment system, recording and supporting in management of daily facilities issues and writing, organising and sending communications to all stakeholders. It will have an element of reception duties each week on a Monday being the face of Orchard School and involving input and collation of data and information to provide reports on compliance and health and safety to the Business Manager. The role requires strong organisational skills, attention to detail and the ability to work efficiently in a busy school environment, supporting both the business team and wider school community.
You will need to be flexible as this role can involve ad hoc requests. You will be committed to teamwork and able to use your initiative, working independently but knowing when to seek advice. This role will enable you to utilise your organisational, problem solving and communication skills. You may already have experience of working in education or schools or would like to move into this sector.
As a mixed 11-16 school serving young people in North Bristol, our students reflect our richly diverse local community, and we place no limits on the aspirations of our students. We are a seriously good school, building further success on the core ORCHARD values of being: Open-minded, Respectful, Creative and Curious, Healthy, Ambitious, Responsible and Determined. Our mission statement – inspire today, empower for life – lies at the heart of all that the school does.
We offer:
- - Enthusiastic students, willing to learn and achieve, who have a positive relationship with staff
- - Bright, happy place in which to learn and work
- - A professionally stimulating environment which values the contributions of all staff
- - A strong commitment to your professional development
- - Award-winning staff wellbeing
