Come and join our school family
At Carlton Colville Primary School, we’re proud to be a friendly, inclusive and ambitious community where every child is encouraged to shine. With the up-coming retirement of our long-serving Business Manager, we are looking for an organised, approachable and proactive Business Manager to manage all aspects of our busy finances, including the responsibility of setting the school budget, alongside the Senior Management Team and ensuring the HR and payroll operations run smoothly.
This is a key role at the heart of our school, working closely with school leaders to make sure everything behind the scenes runs just as well as the learning in our classrooms.
What the role involves
As our Business Manager, you will:
- Be a key part of our small, friendly office team, ensuring everything runs efficiently and with a smile.
- Manage the school’s finances — from budgeting and monitoring expenditure to producing reports and ensuring we meet all statutory requirements.
- Manage HR administration, including recruitment, staff records and payroll liaison.
- Keep accurate records and ensure we follow data protection and safeguarding procedures.
- Be a welcoming first point of contact for parents, staff, governors and visitors.
- Support the Headteacher and governors with accurate financial forecasting and planning.
We’re looking for someone who:
- Has experience in financial management (school experience would be an advantage).
- Is highly organised and able to juggle multiple priorities.
- Has great attention to detail and accuracy.
- Is confident with IT, including finance systems.
- Understands (or is willing to learn) school finance regulations.
- Communicates clearly and warmly with a wide range of people.
- Can work calmly under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Handles confidential information with care and discretion.
- Brings a positive, can do attitude and a commitment to our school values.
If you think this sounds like the perfect role for you, we’d love to meet you. School visits are strongly encouraged. For more details, to arrange a visit, please contact the Business Manager, Mrs Everett-Day either via email - mrs.everett-day@carltoncolvilleprimary.co.uk or telephone 01502 572682.
