1. Qualifications & Knowledge
Essential
- Educated to A level standard with good literacy and numeracy skills
Desirable
- Educated to degree level
- Possession of a school business management qualification e.g. Level 4 DBSM
- Having met or be willing to meet the Institute of School Business Leadership (ISBL) School Business Professional Standards
2. Experience
Essential
- The ability to use Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, Outlook, Powerpoint
- Experience of taking producing minutes in a professional capacity
Desirable
- Understanding of the education sector and the needs of post-16 students
3. Knowledge, Ability and Organisational skills
Essential
- Ability to work strategically and to develop proposals for improving services effectively
- Ability to be proactive, prioritise work and manage time effectively
- Ability to respond well to a changing environment
4. Communication
Essential
- Ability to communicate effectively to a wide range of different audiences at all levels, both orally and in writing, including the ability to promote the school
- Ability to write reports, letters, emails and produce accurate correspondence and identify errors
- Ability to produce and understand statistics and collate these in reports for distribution
- Ability to use initiative to deal with telephone calls and staff queries in a professional manner
- Ability to influence people
- Ability to promote a professional standard that sets a good example to students
