Place of work:

We're looking for a compassionate and experienced Counsellor to join our dedicated Cabin team at Comberton Village College. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a meaningful difference to the lives of neurodiverse young people by providing emotional and therapeutic support, helping students overcome challenges and thrive both academically and personally.

Based within our specialist Cabin provision, you will work closely with students, families, school staff and external agencies to deliver high-quality counselling and therapeutic interventions tailored to individual needs.

The successful candidate will be professionally accredited, or eligible for accreditation, with experience supporting young people with a range of complex needs including anxiety, bereavement, self-harm, eating disorders, depression, OCD and issues relating to transition and emotional regulation. You will play a key role in early intervention, safeguarding and staff development, helping to create a supportive and inclusive environment where every student can succeed.

If you are passionate about improving outcomes for young people and want to work as part of a collaborative and caring team, we would love to hear from you.

Our students are well motivated, staff morale is excellent and outcomes are strong across our comprehensive intake. The school has consistently been rated Outstanding by Ofsted, most recently in November 2024.

We are a highly successful, community mixed comprehensive school with Teaching School status in a pleasant rural setting just five miles from the centre of Cambridge. We have around 2,000 students aged 11-18, including a thriving sixth form.

If you are committed to helping young people thrive both personally and academically, we would love to hear from you.
