What skills and experience we're looking for

Oaklands is a school for children and young people that have severe, profound and multiple learning difficulties and/or autism. We cater for students between the ages of 4 and 19. High Oaks, our secondary school is based in a purpose built premises located in Gresham Road, Hounslow. We are close to Osterley Tube Station and public transport routes and just 15 minutes’ walk from Hounslow bus station.

Oaklands sixth form offer a 3 year programme of study. As part of this 3 year programme students participate in Vocational and Life skills activities. As part of this they will participate in a range of activities relating to the World of work and preparing them for adulthood.

Due to our rapid and continued expansion, we are looking to appoint an enthusiastic Café and Shop Assistant. The ideal candidate will maintain a high level of customer service whilst supporting and training students to develop their working skills in a café environment. You will need to have experience of working in a café and retail environment and experience of having worked with young people who have severe learning difficulties. We believe that all of our students are capable of making outstanding progress and we want to appoint individuals who share our belief and have the desire and motivation to make this happen. Oaklands is an ‘outstanding’ special school serving the London Borough of Hounslow that provides specialist education to students with severe learning difficulties, profound and multiple difficulties and autism aged 4-19.
We have a Primary school (New Oaks), and a Secondary school (High Oaks). We are based across two different sites with both our school buildings offering state of the art facilities for our students and we serve a socially and ethnically diverse population, with children coming from within Hounslow and the surrounding Boroughs.
