Care Club Playworkers job summary

Playworkers are required at our very popular before and after school Care Club based in

Menston Primary School

A variety of permanent, Fixed Term and Casual, term time only Playworkers are required,

to start in September 2025

All posts are Grade 2, SCP3-4 (£12.45 to £12.65 per hour), pay award pending

Our Care Club is a well-established, friendly and caring 75+ place, play based before and after school care facility for Menston Primary School children, with tremendous indoor and outdoor facilities. We have our own dedicated Care Club playrooms and a wide variety of appealing outdoor play spaces. New staff are fully supported with a full induction programme and ongoing training.

We would welcome applications from anyone with an enthusiasm and interest in working with and developing young children. We encourage people from all walks of life to apply so that we gain a wide variety of skills and experience to support and develop our provision.

Some posts are available on a casual basis. This gives us some flexibility to recruit students from local secondary schools who will are in Y12 and Y13 and for these candidates we are able to accommodate the schools’ 2 week rolling timetables.

A variety of part time positions are available, and candidates should be willing to work at least two morning and/or afternoon sessions per week:

Mornings: Either 7.15 am, 7.45 am or 8.00 am start, with a finish time of 8.45 am or 9 am

Afternoons: 3 pm to 5.30 pm or 6.00 pm finish

Actual days and session times and contract start dates will be confirmed with successful candidates upon offer of employment.

The successful candidates will:

  • Have some experience of working with primary aged children, in either a paid or voluntary role
  • Support our school in our strong commitment to safeguarding children
  • Be caring, enthusiastic, well organised, and flexible team players, with excellent interpersonal skills
  • Have high expectations of the children and themselves
  • Have a commitment to their own professional development
  • Be passionate about delivering high quality childcare across the primary age range
