Care Enabler job summary

What we need

We are looking for friendly, caring individuals to appoint to the role of Care Enabler, working within a team that provides support with personal care to learners with Special Educational Needs. You should share our ambition for every child to achieve their full potential, regardless of the complexity of their needs and be able to work collaboratively with several class teams to work towards this shared goal.

The main duties of the role include:

  • provide personal care to children and young people, including changing nappies/continence pads, toileting, washing and dressing, and personal hygiene
  • undertake in-school training to follow manual handling plans which set out how some children and young people might need physical support to move, and be moved
  • maintain cleanliness of equipment such as personal care beds, in line with health and safety guidelines
  • occasional washing and drying of clothes using facilities in school
  • maintain cleanliness of hygiene rooms
  • be able to support with wider school activities such as trips and readying for Hydrotherapy sessions
