We have a vacancy for a confident, enthusiastic, suitably qualified and experienced careers and work experience coordinator to provide high quality service at the Upper School site on Glossop Road.

The successful candidate will be required to provide careers and work experience support and guidance to Key Stages 3, 4 and 5, including dealing with written and verbal enquiries, student one-to-one meetings, updating of manual and computerised records, assisting with the organisation of School events and the preparation and distribution of resources as required. You will be required to work hours as part of your 40th week during August on the GCSE results and following day.

The successful candidate will:

  • be a skilled ICT practitioner, with excellent Microsoft Excel skills
  • have very good interpersonal skills
  • have a strong organisational ability
  • have the ability to prioritise and manage workload

Applicants must have a good working knowledge of the whole suite of Microsoft Office software and be comfortable using Word and Excel extensively. We use SIMS as our main management information software and whilst familiarity with this piece of software is not essential the successful candidate must be able to learn quickly as they will use this central source of management information on a daily basis.

This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and the successful applicant will be required to apply for an enhanced DBS certificate. As the post will involve regulated activity with children, it is a criminal offence to apply for this post if you are included on the children’s barred list held by the DBS.

Amendments to the Exceptions Order 1975 (2013 & 2020) provide that certain spent convictions and cautions are “protected”. These are not subject to the disclosure to employers and cannot be taken into account.
