Careers Advisor and Sixth Form Academic Mentor job summary

Saracens High School is a free school that opened in September 2018 for pupils aged 11-18, in the Colindale area of North London, serving the wonderfully diverse Grahame Park community.

As we begin our sevnth year, we are looking for a new colleague to become our careers advisor and join the Sixth Form team. In this role you will work closely with the Sixth Form Leadership to help students meet the demands of their Sixth Form studies, and to prepare them for the next stage in their lives, whether that is in education, employment, or training.

You will also act as our Careers Advisor, working mainly, but not exclussively, with our Sixth Form students. In this role, you will also work with other colleagues to help deliver and track our careers provision throughout KS3 and KS4.

Saracens High School has a family ethos and is committed to supporting staff in this rewarding job, while recognising the stress it puts upon us. With generous teacher loadings, the opportunity for colleagues to take family days, access to the school gym, and access to a staff counsellor, we do all we can to look after our staff.

With strong ties to the wider Saracens organisation, we base all we do on the values Discipline, Hard Work, Honesty, and Humility. We have a family ethos that focuses on character development and making memories, as much as outstanding academic attainment. Our aim is to develop aspirational life-long learners, who will thrive in their chosen career path, embracing our values, and demonstrating a strong moral purpose and a desire to make a positive contribution to society and their local community. (Hear Paul Dix speak about Saracens High School here https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0Utm3ocGeII)

Our school is a place where a person enters the building and knows this is a school where the learner is empowered to “be the best that they can possibly be”; where the individual abilities of each pupil are recognised, and where coaching for life skills as well as academic excellence is at the core of all we do.

We offer exceptional training and development opportunities and do all we can to support you in this role, and to achieve your aspirations, while you help the children to achieve theirs.

If you have any questions or would like a general conversation with the Principal about the role, please contact the us on 020 8181 3180 or email principal@saracenshigh.org

The closing date is Friday 19 July 2024
