Careers Advisor
£27,804 to £29,579 per annum for full time, college staff term time only plus 10 additional days

Blackpool Sixth, an outstanding college specialising in 16-19 education, is seeking a dynamic Careers Advisor to join our Learning Resources and Futures team.
Our Futures team reports to the Head of Learning Resources and Careers, and it is an exciting time to be joining the team. The successful candidate, in collaboration with their manager, will have a significant impact on how our careers guidance is provided across the college with a voice in shaping the service we offer. This role is your chance to be a driving force in shaping the futures of Blackpool’s young people.
This is a permanent post and is full time, your usual working hours will be Monday-Friday 8.30am-4.30pm, the role is college staff term time only (plus an additional 10 days), all other time is considered as leave.

You will forge pathways by providing personalised 1-1 guidance and dynamic group workshops, equipping students with the tools they need to conquer higher education, employment, or training. You will build bridges, liaising with local employers and training providers, creating valuable connections that open doors for our students and you will empower transformation by identifying and dismantling barriers to progression, unlocking the full potential of every student you work with.

inspire students to achieve their full potential;
help provide invaluable work placement and work experience opportunities, bridging the gap between education and the real world
lead dynamic workshops with small groups of students, illuminating diverse career pathways and empowering them to make informed choices
liaise with other departments, seamlessly integrating career support into student journeys, both individually and through our innovative Career Academies.
