£26,289 to £27,804 per annum for full time, college staff term time only, plus 10 days.

Blackpool Sixth is an outstanding college specialising in 16-19 education, and we have an exciting opportunity for an Employability and Work Placement Officer to become part of our dedicated team. This permanent position is your chance to truly make a difference, helping our students develop essential skills, gain invaluable experience, and build confidence for their next steps.
As a vital member of our Learning Resources and Futures team, you’ll take on a dynamic and varied role where no two days are the same! As our Employability and Work Placement Officer you will be at the heart of creating and nurturing strong relationships with local businesses and voluntary organisations. You will spot and develop exciting new placement opportunities that inspire and challenge our students. You will collaborate with teaching staff and students to match placements that align perfectly with individual aspirations and manage the behind-the-scenes magic, ensuring smooth and efficient placement administration. You will also support students in developing their employability skills and knowledge of job search and application by working with our Careers Academies, which could involve organising and delivering small scale events, workshops or 1:1 meetings.
A day in your new role could see you:
Sparking inspiration and guiding students to unlock their full potential;
Teaming up with external organisations to offer high-quality employer engagement opportunities for our students;
Expanding our network of employer connections, both regionally and nationally.
Representing the college at networking events;
Delivering exciting presentations about the sixth form’s fantastic employability work to students, staff or employers;
Keeping an eye on students out in the field, visiting them on their work placements and making sure they’re having an amazing experience.
