Careers Coordinator job summary
Careers Coordinator - 37 hours per week, Monday to Thursday 8.00am to 4.00pm and Friday 8.00am to 3.30pm, term time only (38 weeks). Grade D Step 1 - Actual Annual Salary of £23,291.64 (which is the equivalent of a full time salary of £27,779).
As part of our commitment to staff wellbeing RAISE Education Trust is trialling a two week half term break 19th to 30th October 2026. Following this trial, should the Trust revert back to a one week October half term break from 2027 the contractual working weeks would increase to 39 weeks and the salary would increase accordingly.
Deer Park School is a new state of the art seven-form secondary school which opened in September 2021. At present there are just under 1,000 students on roll across Year 7, 8, 9, 10 & 11. We are part of the RAISE Education Trust which comprises Deer Park Secondary School, Wildern Secondary School and Boorley Park Primary School. We will have a PAN of 1050 when full.

Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities
- Programme Leadership: In collaboration with the Senior Leadership Team Link, design, implement, and evaluate a progressive Careers Related Learning programme, ensuring it meets the diverse needs of all students and aligns with national standards.
- Stakeholder Management: Act as the primary liaison for external partners, leading the recruitment and management of community volunteers, businesses, and alumni to secure high-quality careers events, such as practice interviews and careers fairs.
- Event Management & Oversight: Take full responsibility for the end-to-end planning and execution of large-scale careers events, including budget monitoring, health and safety risk assessments, and impact reporting.
- Independent Advice & Guidance Liaison: Coordinate the schedule and delivery of independent careers advice, ensuring all students have access to impartial guidance and maintaining accurate tracking of student progression.
- Data Analysis & Reporting: Manage and interpret complex student destination data and engagement metrics, providing detailed reports to the Senior Leadership Team to drive strategic improvements.
- Operational Management: Direct and oversee all administrative functions related to the careers department, ensuring professional standards are maintained and systems are optimised for efficiency.
- Compliance & Best Practice: Maintain a specialist knowledge of careers legislation and the Gatsby Benchmarks, ensuring school policy and practice remain compliant and forward-thinking.

Deer Park School is a new seven-form entry secondary school which opened in September 2021 initially with four forms of Year 7 and growing to full capacity of seven forms of entry over the next seven years.
We are part of the Wildern Academy Trust which comprises of Wildern School, Deer Park Secondary School and Boorley Park Primary School.
This is an exciting time for the trust and all colleagues joining us.
