We are seeking an enthusiastic, innovative and dedicated Careers Lead to join our thriving girls' secondary school. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate individual to lead and develop a high-quality careers education, information, advice and guidance (CEIAG) programme that inspires our students to achieve their aspirations and make informed decisions about their future pathways.

As Careers Lead, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring that every student is equipped with the knowledge, skills and confidence to succeed in further education, training and employment. You will work closely with senior leaders, teaching staff, employers, universities, apprenticeship providers and external agencies to deliver an outstanding careers programme that raises aspirations and broadens horizons.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the strategic development, implementation and evaluation of the school's careers programme.
• Ensure the school meets the Gatsby Benchmarks and statutory careers guidance requirements.
• Coordinate careers education across Key Stages 3, 4 and 5.
• Develop strong partnerships with employers, higher education institutions, apprenticeship providers and community organisations.
• Organise careers events, workplace experiences, university visits, apprenticeship fairs and employer engagement activities.
• Provide impartial careers guidance and support to students and families.
• Promote opportunities in STEM and other sectors, encouraging girls to pursue ambitious and diverse career pathways.
• Monitor and evaluate the impact of careers provision using data and student feedback.
• Support students with progression planning, applications, personal statements, CV writing and interview preparation.
• Manage careers resources, budgets and external partnerships.

Watford Grammar School for Girls is a partially selective 11-18 girls’ school, founded as ‘The Free School’ in Watford in 1704 with a mission to teach girls, initially alongside their brothers, from the outset. This makes us one of the oldest girls’ school in the country.
