Yorkshire Causeway Schools Trust is looking for practical, reliable and enthusiastic Caretakers to help maintain safe, welcoming and well-presented school environments.

The role is based at St Peter's CE Primary School, Harrogate, with occasional support provided to other Trust schools when required, depending on hours worked.
Whether you have previous caretaker experience, facilities management experience, maintenance skills, trade skills, or simply enjoy practical hands-on work, we would like to hear from you. Full training and support will be provided.
About the Role
This is a varied and rewarding position where no two days are the same. You will play an important part in helping our schools operate safely and efficiently while providing a positive environment for pupils, staff and visitors.
Typical duties include:
Opening, school buildings
Carrying out basic repairs and maintenance
Painting and decorating tasks
Setting up rooms and moving equipment
Supporting health and safety checks
Receiving deliveries and assisting contractors
General site upkeep and presentation
Supporting grounds and outdoor areas
Assisting with additional maintenance work during school holiday periods
Travel between school sites during the working day will be treated as working time and mileage expenses will be reimbursed in line with Trust policy.
About You
We are looking for someone who:
Enjoys practical, hands-on work
Can carry out basic DIY and maintenance tasks
Is reliable, organised and takes pride in their work
Can work independently and use initiative
Has a positive and flexible approach
Communicates well with colleagues and contractors
Is committed to maintaining safe environments for children and young people
Previous caretaker, facilities, maintenance, property, construction, trade or site management experience would be helpful but is not essential.
Training will be provided for the right candidate.
