What skills and experience we're looking for
The governors are seeking to appoint an experienced caretaker to join our team. The caretaker will be our site manager and will be part of our dedicated and hard-working cleaning team who ensure our school provides a welcoming environment for our children, staff and visitors.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Site keyholder, ensuring that the school is secure at all times
- General maintenance of the school grounds, including routine inspections to identify issues, repairs, painting and landscaping
- Carry out general cleaning duties when required and oversee the work of the cleaning staff
- Coordinating with outside contractors for repairs and maintenance
- Ensuring a safe and healthy environment for students and staff
- Management of waste/refuse on site
- Maintain safe condition of areas of limited access (boiler and store rooms)
- Operate within the constraints of Health & Safety and COSHH regulations
- Stock control of cleaning supplies
- Service any evening/weekend lettings
- Additional duties as assigned by the school Headteacher.
