What skills and experience we're looking for

Due to the continuing growth of this highly successful school and college, we are looking for Caretaker who:

  • Is passionate about ensuring the health and safety of all students, staff and visitors is paramount
  • Is able to ensure that the building and grounds are maintained to the highest possible standard at all times (grounds work, painting and general repairs)
  • Has outstanding communication skills
  • Is innovative and dynamic
  • Understands the importance of teamwork
  • Is committed to excellence
  • Has the vision, skills and energy to provide the best opportunity for every student within our school and college
  • Will be prepared to work as a mentor to some students through completing work experience

What the school offers its staff

Brentwood School is an outstanding special school which specialises in the education of students with severe, profound and multiple learning difficulties, complex needs and autism. Our school benefits from fabulous facilities and is co-located with a post-19 college. Student numbers are set to increase over the coming years and an extension to the building is currently being constructed and is set to open in September 2025.

We provide a comprehensive induction programme and ongoing CPD for all staff.

We are a warm and friendly school and value the health and wellbeing of our staff.
