Cecil Gowing Infant School is a Local Authority school located in Sprowston, set in welcoming, well-maintained grounds. We are a two-form entry infant school with approximately 180 children on roll. Our school is very nurturing, with a strong focus on our values of Kindness, Resilience, and Creativity. We have fabulous children and a supportive team of staff and governors.
At Cecil Gowing, we take a child-centred approach to provide a rich and varied curriculum that meets the needs of every child. Our excellent pastoral team ensures meaningful and effective support for children and their families.
We are looking for a proactive and reliable Caretaker to oversee the day-to-day management of our school premises.
This varied role includes:
- Liaising with contractors and the property services team
- Maintaining the school grounds
- Managing cleaning staff and undertaking cleaning duties
- Ensuring the security of the site
- You will play a key part in maintaining a clean, safe, and well-presented environment for pupils, staff, and visitors, supporting our nurturing and inclusive ethos.
We are looking for someone who is:
- Hardworking and takes pride in their work
- Responsible, flexible, reliable, and honest
- Approachable and friendly
- A team player but also able to work on their own initiative
- Able to maintain confidentiality
- Confident with ICT (basic word processing and e-mail)
Working hours: 8.15am – 11.30am, Monday to Friday
