What skills and experience we're looking for
Deepcar St Johns CE Junior School is wishing to appoint a permanent caretaker from 1st September 2024
We are looking for a conscientious, flexible, committed caretaker to join our successful school.
The person should be hardworking and enthusiastic and ready to join our small friendly team of staff. The person should be able to prioritise work, be self-sufficient and be able to work independently.
The successful candidate will preferably be able to work a split shift working between 7.30am - 12 noon and 3.00pm – 6.00pm for 37 hours per week 52 weeks per year, but we may be able to offer some flexibility to this for the right candidate. There will be occasions when you will be required to work outside of these hours, for example, locking the building after parents evening. A residential property – 3 bedroom detached bungalow is available with the position.
The role includes;
- supervising the safety and security of the premises,
- cleaning duties,
- key holding duties,
- porterage,
- general maintenance,
- gardening,
- completing risk assessments,
- regularly inspecting building utilities to ensure they are in good working order,
- sourcing and booking contractors,
- complete some maintenance repair work,
- adhere to health and safety policies of the school.
