Caretaker job summary
Fearnhill School is seeking to appoint a Caretaker to join our caring, hardworking team. We are looking for someone who will be proactive and take pride in maintaining a secure, safe, clean and attractive school environment for everyone.
Duties are varied and include security of the premises, non-specialist maintenance and repairs, cleaning and porterage, full details are set out in the attached job description.
The successful candidate will be
• honest, reliable, hardworking and well organised
• have good DIY skills and be able to carry out minor repairs and jobs competently
• have sound knowledge of health and safety management
• be flexible and enjoy working with children, parents, governors and staff
• willing to undertake training for statutory requirements, legionella, health & safety
Previous caretaking experience is desirable but not essential. A reasonable level of technical ability in routine maintenance and handy-person skills is however, required.
This is an excellent opportunity for future career progression into premises management for the right candidate.
