- Carrying out routine maintenance of school buildings and grounds.
- Undertaking minor repairs and maintenance tasks, including changing light bulbs, assembling shelving, painting and decorating, and basic plumbing work.
- Maintaining the school grounds, including grass cutting and general upkeep.
- Assisting with cleaning duties where required.
- Moving and transporting furniture, equipment, and deliveries around the site.
- Monitoring and replenishing stocks of cleaning and maintenance supplies.
- Supervising and liaising with external contractors working on site.
- Supporting and adhering to school policies and procedures, including safeguarding and data protection requirements.
- Contributing positively to the ethos and values of the Caister Primary Federation.
- Carrying out any other reasonable duties commensurate with the role.
About You
Personal qualities are of paramount importance. The successful candidate will demonstrate:
- Patience, enthusiasm, and a positive attitude.
- Energy, flexibility, and reliability.
- A good sense of humour and a willingness to help others.
- Strong practical problem-solving skills.
- The ability to work independently while also contributing effectively as part of a team.
What We Offer
You will join a friendly, supportive, and committed staff team where collaboration and teamwork are highly valued. Hemsby and Rollesby Primary Schools are popular and successful schools, proudly forming part of the City2Coast Federation.
Prospective applicants are warmly encouraged to visit the schools and discuss the role with the Head of School, Donna Walker. Informal visits are most welcome. Please contact the school office in September on 01493 730364 or by emailing hos@hemsbyprimary.org.uk to arrange a suitable time.
