The Candidate
We are looking for a practical, reliable and proactive individual who takes pride in creating a safe, welcoming and well-maintained environment for our pupils, staff and visitors. You will ideally have experience in a site security, safety, cleaning or maintenance environment, alongside a good understanding of working within a school setting. With a practical, hands-on approach and excellent attention to detail, you’ll be someone who enjoys finding solutions and making sure things are done to a high standard. You’ll be organised, approachable and confident in working with a wide range of people, from children and colleagues to contractors and visitors. We’re looking for someone with a friendly yet professional manner, who communicates effectively, takes responsibility and can prioritise tasks while responding positively when priorities change. A genuine ‘can-do’ attitude is essential, as is the ability to work independently, use initiative and contribute positively to the wider school community. Above all, you’ll share our commitment to providing an excellent service and putting the needs of pupils at the heart of what you do. You’ll be professional, energetic and committed to continuous improvement, with a willingness to learn, develop new skills and embrace new ideas. If you’re someone who takes pride in your work, enjoys a varied role and wants to play an important part in creating a positive school environment, we’d love to hear from you.
Skills and Abilities- Good practical and DIY skills.
- Ability to undertake minor repairs and maintenance.
- Ability to use basic hand and power tools safely and appropriately.
- Good organisational skills and the ability to prioritise tasks.
- Ability to keep accurate records and report maintenance issues when required.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work positively with staff, pupils, parents, contractors and visitors.
- Ability to respond calmly and appropriately to emergencies or unexpected problems.
- Ability to work flexibly and adapt to changing priorities.
