Are you practical, reliable and take pride in creating a safe and welcoming environment for children and staff? We are looking for an enthusiastic and dependable Caretaker to join our school team (Watlington Primary School and Icknield Community College) and play an important role in ensuring our school site is safe, secure, clean and well maintained. This is a varied and hands-on role, ideal for someone who enjoys practical work, solving problems and making sure things run smoothly behind the scenes.

What you will be doing

As our Caretaker, you will help to ensure the school buildings, grounds and facilities are maintained to a high standard. Your job description and person specification is attached to this advert. Please do refer to these.

Previous experience in a caretaking, maintenance, facilities or similar role would be advantageous. Relevant practical skills and experience are more important than formal qualifications.

Why join us?

You will be joining a supportive school team where your work will make a real difference every day. As Caretaker, you will play an essential role in creating an environment where children can learn, staff can work effectively and everyone feels safe and welcome.

We offer a supportive working environment, opportunities for training and development, and the opportunity to become an important member of our school community.

You are welcome to contact Lee Warner, Hub Business Manager at Lwarner@acertrust.org.uk to have an informal discussion about the role.

As this role is shared between Watlington Primary School and Icknield Community College, we have posted the same advert on both schools’ recruitment pages. You do not need to apply to both. Applying through either school’s recruitment page is sufficient.
