As a Caretaker at our school you will ensure that the school premises and contents are properly maintained, secure and ready for use, in addition to helping to ensure that the school is clean and tidy. The Caretaker also has the responsibility, under the direction of the School Business Manager/Headteacher for the security of the school premises.

We are a large Junior School on a big site, so there is always plenty to keep you busy!

We are keen to find the best person for the job and as such can offer the role with or without cleaning duties, and have broken down the two options below:

Working Hours

Working Monday to Friday, split between a morning (to allow for unlocking etc) and an afternoon shift.

The exact working pattern will be agreed with the successful candidate at interview but will fall within our academy hours of Monday to Friday, 07:00 – 18:30.

We are happy to appoint on either of the above options, based on candidate preference, so please confirm in the Personal Statement section of your application form which you would rather, knowing this will not impact the shortlisting of your application.

Optional Employee Benefit

There is potential for the post holder to live onsite in a 3-bedroom bungalow within the school grounds. This is an optional benefit and will play no part in the short-listing process. For further information around the accommodation, please refer to the School Business Manager - businessmanager@derehamjunior.dneat.org or Headteacher - head@derehamjunior.dneat.org
