Caretaker job summary
We wish to appoint a proactive full-time Caretaker to join our hard-working and collaborative cross-site premises team.
Salary Range: Salary Band 2: £26,646 - £27,911 (Actual starting salary £26,646 with annual performance-based increments)
Shift Allowance: £1816 per annum
Working Weeks: 52 weeks (less annual leave)
Working Hours: 37 hours per week within a shift system to ensure cover between 5.30am and 10.00pm Monday - Friday. The shift times are as follows:
5.30am - 1.30pm
8am - 4pm
2pm - 10pm
Reporting to a Senior Caretaker, you will be a team player who takes pride in the appearance and maintenance of the Academy buildings and grounds.
The successful applicant will be an enthusiastic, friendly, highly motivated and flexible individual who possesses general building maintenance and caretaking skills.
You should have a good range of DIY skills such as decorating, minor plumbing and carpentry. You will have good communication skills as you will be liaising with contractors and tradesmen as well as students and staff. You should also have had previous experience of basic health & safety. The ability to undertake basic risk assessments would be preferred, although training will be given.
Duties may also include general cleaning, dealing with spillages, blockages, locking and unlocking the sites and any ad-hoc duties as required.
Full driving licence and use of own car is essential as you may be required to attend the Academy sites outside of normal hours.
