ABOUT US Springwell Learning Community is the umbrella name for Springwell Special Academy and Springwell Alternative Academy. Springwell Special Academy provides cross-phase education for Barnsley children with social, emotional and mental health difficulties SEMH. THE ROLE
We are seeking to recruit colleagues who require the flexibility offered by a casual contract. These colleagues will play an important role across our school providing both regular and ad hoc support for our pupils as well as providing cover for full time members of staff.
As a Grade 4 Teaching Assistant in our special school, you will offer more than classroom support. You will make connections, develop relationships and lead our pupils on the path to a bright future. This will include working under the guidance of a teacher to support the academic and personal development of children throughout the school day. This includes:
Implementing lesson plans and activities
Assist students with alternative learning
Collaborate with the teaching team to create a positive learning environment
Updating, maintaining and monitoring pupil plans EHCP
Leading small and whole class group work
THE CANDIDATE
Experience in a school or similar setting
IDEALLY experience working with children/ young people with SEN / SEMH needs
MUST be educated with GCSE Maths and English or equivalent
NVQ L3 qualification or willing to working towards
Ideally a car driver
REQUIREMENTS
Must be willing to complete all safer recruitment checks in line with KCSiE
Casual staff will be required to attend appropriate training
Casual staff will be required to provide availability for a minimum of 2 weeks
Staff will be paid on the 15th of each month on receipt of submitted timesheet
Gaps of more than 3 months without working would result in termination of contract
Availability can be full or part time
