Catering Assistant job summary

We are looking for an enthusiastic and hard working Catering Assistant to work with us to provide high quality hot school meals in our busy kitchen.

7.5 hours per week (11.45am - 1.15pm) term time only. and is offered on a temporary basis until the end of the academic year initially (End July 2026)

The successful applicant will:

  • Be able to manage time effectively to complete tasks to a high level
  • Take pride in a job well done
  • Enjoy working within a team
  • Treat children and staff with courtesy and respect, whilst ensuring a safe, clean environment adhering to food safety regulations

Duties will include:

  • Food preparation as directed by the Catering Manager
  • Serving food
  • Operate kitchen equipment following training
  • Follow food hygiene and safety regulations
  • Undertake cleaning and washing up
  • Monitoring and maintaining of records of daily fridge and freezer and food temperature in accordance with Food Hygiene Regulations and Health & Safety
  • Maintaining kitchen cleanliness
