Catering Assistants job summary

Temple Hill are looking for hardworking, enthusiastic and flexible individuals to join our expanding Catering Team as Catering Assistants.

We have a range of opportunities available:

  • Permanent – 7.5 hours per week
  • Monday to Friday, 12.15pm – 1.45pm, 38 weeks per year.
  • Salary: Kent Scheme A 2026, £26,168 full-time equivalent (FTE), with an actual pro rata salary of £4,525.42 per year.

  • Permanent – 10 hours per week
  • Monday to Friday, 11.45am – 1.45pm, 38 weeks per year.
  • Salary: Kent Scheme A 2026, £26,168 full-time equivalent (FTE), with an actual pro rata salary of £6,033.69 per year.

  • Temporary – 25 hours per week
  • Monday to Friday, 8.45am – 1.45pm, 38 weeks per year.
  • Salary: Kent Scheme A 2026, £26,168 full-time equivalent (FTE), with an actual pro rata salary of £15,084.74 per year.

    Reporting to the Chef Manager, you will play an essential part in ensuring our food service is the best that it can be, you will be working in our kitchens providing extra support and covering absence.


    You will need to be flexible and adaptable, and your duties will be varied, including basic food preparation, serving pupils and staff, and of course washing up and helping to keep the kitchen clean, tidy and safe. 


    As a very important member of our team, you will be expected to undertake training, which you will be paid for, and we will provide you with uniform. Experience of working in a kitchen environment is desirable but not essential, and we welcome applicants seeking a better work life balance and greater flexibility.
