Catering Assistant job summary

Catering Assistant (2 positions)

10 hours per week | Term Time Only

Are you friendly, reliable and enjoy working as part of a team? We are looking for an enthusiastic Catering Assistant to join our busy Catering Team and help us provide an excellent service to students, staff and visitors.

The role involves supporting all aspects of the catering service, including food preparation and serving, simple cooking, setting up and clearing dining areas, washing up, maintaining high standards of cleanliness and food hygiene, stock control and assisting with cash handling. You will also provide friendly and professional customer service to students and staff.

We are looking for someone with previous catering experience, ideally within an educational setting, who is organised, dependable and able to work well as part of a team. A Level 2 Food Safety qualification is required, or you must be willing to undertake this qualification.

The position is 10 hours per week, providing lunchtime cover, term time only (12.15pm to 2.15pm - Monday to Friday).

The role requires a flexible approach to support the catering service, including occasional planned evening work where required.

Salary: SFCA Support Staff Pay Scale - Point 3 (£24,759 full-time equivalent)
