Catering Assistant job summary
We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and energetic Catering Assistant to join our small catering team. This is a permanent role working 15 hours per week, from 11 am – 2 pm. The role is term-time plus one week – a total of 39 weeks per year. The additional 5 days will be worked during school holiday periods to meet training requirements and to carry out kitchen cleaning.
Our successful candidate will be someone who is willing to work as part of the whole school team, to ensure that our pupils receive high quality meals each day, whilst maintaining a safe & hygienic environment. You will support the Head of Kitchen by preparing the kitchen for service, maintaining a clean and tidy work area, cleaning and washing up after service and ensuring that the school hall is ready for use by setting out and putting away tables and chairs. You will be expected to deliver excellent customer service to both children and staff, and to ensure that children with allergies receive the correct menu items.
You will fit into our friendly and hard working catering team as well as being an integral part of the whole Roundthorn staff team. You will greet children and staff helpfully and courteously and will assist them with any questions they may have. You will undertake regular training as required, in order to comply with legal responsibilities and the requirements of the school and Focus-Trust.
