Catering/Kitchen Assistant job summary
The Academy of Central Bedfordshire is one of the most successful Alternative Provision schools in the country and has the privilege of educating and supporting vulnerable young people from across Central Bedfordshire. This is a unique opportunity to work in a trauma-informed environment that provides meaningful education, enabling each of our pupils to reach their potential. Ideally, you will have experience of working with young people with additional needs, and some catering experience would be desirable, but not essential. All relevant skills and experience will be considered.
We are seeking a Catering /Kitchen Assistant to work at our Kingsland Campus in Houghton Regis, 20 hours per week (4 hours a day, 10.30 am - 2.30 pm), Term Time only.
Preferably, you will have some experience of working in a school catering environment, ideally with students who have additional needs. However, your role will be to support the Catering and Hospitality Instructor and the Catering Supervisor, who will provide any training necessary and be on hand to guide you through your working day. We particularly value the well-being of every member of the school community and regard this as fundamental to the success of our school.
