Catering Manager job summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen to work as part of the Spencer Academies Trust catering team within Clover Leys Spencer Academy in Boulton Moor, Derby. As Catering Manager, you will lead a busy primary kitchen with one Catering Assistant to deliver high-quality, nutritious meals in a safe, welcoming environment.

You’ll be responsible for:

Planning menus in collaboration with the central catering team

Managing food orders, budgets, and HACCP records

Leading and motivating staff, managing roles and responsibilities within the team, ensuring adequate cover

Maintaining high standards of hygiene and customer satisfaction

Enhancing our food offering and managing multiple dining spaces and sittings

Supporting staff development and conducting performance reviews

What We’re Looking For

We’re seeking someone with:

Experience in professional kitchens and preparing fresh food

Proven leadership in catering environments

Strong organisational, communication, and decision-making skills

Knowledge of food hygiene, safety, and HACCP principles

A proactive, flexible approach and commitment to excellence

A professional catering qualification and Food Hygiene certification (desirable)
