What skills and experience we're looking for

St. Cuthbert’s RC High School is looking to appoint a well-qualified, enthusiastic, and highly motivated Catering Manager to lead our catering team and deliver a high-quality food service to our school community.

We are looking for someone who meets the person specification and brings a proactive approach to the role, ensuring our catering service remains outstanding.

We are seeking an individual who has:

  • Relevant qualifications, including NVQ Level 2 or City & Guilds in Catering, and a Basic Certificate in Food Hygiene.
  • Proven experience in a senior catering position, ideally within a large-scale establishment, with the ability to manage operations within budgetary targets.
  • Strong leadership skills, including the ability to supervise, train, and motivate a large team.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of menu planning, costings, food safety regulations (HACCP and COSHH), and quality assurance procedures.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with strong organisational abilities.
  • A commitment to safeguarding, equality and diversity, and supporting the Catholic ethos of our Trust.
  • A flexible and dedicated approach to work with a focus on delivering exceptional customer care and maintaining a professional, friendly manner.
