Catering Manager job summary

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Catering Manager to lead the catering provision at The Birley Academy. You will oversee the day-to-day operation of the academy's catering service, managing a dedicated team to deliver high-quality, nutritious meals while ensuring excellent standards of food safety, hygiene, compliance and customer service. Working closely with academy leaders and suppliers, you will manage budgets, stock control and service improvement initiatives, helping to create a positive dining experience that supports student wellbeing and success.


What We Are Looking For

We are looking for a proactive catering professional with strong leadership skills and experience managing catering teams in a busy environment. You will have a Food Hygiene Level 2 qualification (or higher), extensive knowledge of food safety, COSHH and health and safety regulations, and experience in menu planning, stock control and budget management. The successful candidate will be highly organised, customer-focused and committed to promoting healthy eating, building positive relationships across the academy community and creating a welcoming dining environment where students can enjoy a positive lunchtime experience.
