Catering Supervisor job summary

About you:

You’ll be an experienced catering professional with a passion for food and high standards of hygiene and safety. Confident in both cooking and team supervision, you'll support the Catering Manager with menu planning, food preparation, and staff coordination—stepping up to lead the team during allocated shifts. You’re organised, reliable, and comfortable taking responsibility, including handling kitchen operations, reporting staff absences, and ensuring procedures are followed. Flexibility to assist with occasional special functions and a hands-on approach to maintaining a clean, safe kitchen environment are essential.

The School:

At Forest Hall School, we aim to cultivate a learning environment where students discover their potential, acquire essential knowledge, and develop the confidence to achieve their aspirations for a bright and successful future.

Forest Hall School is a mainstream secondary school for students in Years 7 to 11. Our unique size provides us with the opportunity to offer a robust curriculum while also having the opportunity to get to know our students, allowing us to support and encourage students to grow into outstanding young adults. We firmly believe in the transformative power of education. Our school is part of a collaborative and dynamic Multi-Academy Trust (MAT) that fosters an inclusive and ambitious learning community. We are dedicated to providing high-quality education, creating an environment where every individual is encouraged to reach their full potential. Our school culture promotes collaboration, innovation, and a commitment to excellence in everything we do.

The Trust:

BMAT is a thriving community of schools, committed to providing an outstanding education for every student attending one of our schools. We create environments where individuals matter, confidence flourishes, and every child can achieve exceptional outcomes. We currently oversee seven secondary academies and five primary academies, primarily located in Harlow, with additional sites in Newham and Stansted.

The Trust’s vision is clear - to work together to smash through the barriers that prevent children from becoming confident, high-achieving, and independent individuals.

What can BMAT offer you? BMAT provides a range of benefits to support your personal and professional well-being:

Generous employer pension contribution through Teachers Pensions or Local Government Pension Scheme

Private healthcare benefits, including 24/7 Doctorline access

Home and electronic salary sacrifice scheme

Cycle to work

Discounted Gym membership through salary sacrifice

Forest Hall School is a relatively small secondary school with a strong sense of community. Irrespective of our size we are still able to offer a wide range of courses, activities and experiences for individual students, and as a result, we are able to respond to the pace and direction of individual development. We recognise that our large and active community requires a high degree of organisation to enable us to achieve our aims.

Our lastest OFSTED report rated us as GOOD in all areas.
