Central RLT IT Technician job summary
This is an exciting opportunity for a proactive and customer-focused IT technician to join the central team supporting schools across the River Learning Trust. As the first point of contact for IT support in our primary schools, you'll play a key role in ensuring staff and students have the tools and systems they need to succeed every day.
Potential to be based at any River Learning Trust school. While the role supports all Primary schools across the Trust, this role will provide on-site support to designated Primary schools within the West Oxfordshire area.
Flexible and remote working options, including working from home, are available in line with the operational needs of the Trust and
specific project requirements
You’ll be responsible for managing the Trust’s central IT helpdesk, providing responsive first-line support, and resolving common technical issues across a range of cloud-based and on-site systems. While the role focuses primarily on remote and on-site support for primary schools in West Oxfordshire, you’ll also contribute to wider Trust IT operations and development work.
This is an ideal role for someone who enjoys solving problems, supporting users, and being part of a collaborative, forward-thinking IT team. Skills and ExperienceThe successful candidate will have:
Experience providing first-line IT support in a school or similar environment
Confidence using and supporting Google Workspace and other cloud-based platforms
Familiarity with ticketing/helpdesk systems and IT support workflows
Strong communication and organisational skills, with a calm and professional approach
A proactive, solutions-focused mindset and ability to work independently
A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel between school sites
