Are you looking for the next step in your IT career? The Vale Federation is seeking to appoint an IT Technician to assist with the efficient operation of the school’s IT services. Workingin the special needs sector offers both a high level of reward and attractive pay.The successful candidate will be working with new systems recently implemented and a broad IT Development Strategy across the Federation, there is therefore much to be actively involved in.

The Vale Federation of Schools incorporates Booker Park Primary Special School and Stocklake Park Secondary Special School, across 2 campuses. Booker Park School currently educates 243 pupils and Stocklake Park School 108 pupils, including a Sixth Form. Further details about the role

Reporting directly to the IT and Finance Manager, the candidate will be responsible for managing and maintaining the school's technology infrastructure. This includes troubleshooting hardware and software issues, ensuring the functionality of computers, printers, and network systems, and providing technical support to staff and students. They may also be tasked with installing and updating software, managing user accounts and permissions, overseeing cybersecurity measures, and ensuring that all technology systems run smoothly to support teaching and learning activities. Additionally, they may assist in setting up and maintaining classroom tech tools like interactive whiteboards and projectors.

The successful candidate is required to have excellent working knowledge of IT Systems and processes in order to support the staff/students of the school. Experience of working in a school environment would be an advantage. You will need to have a logical thought process, have an ability to demonstrate a high level of organisational skills, and have good communication skills.

Part of the Vale Federation of Schools, Stocklake Park Secondary School is a special school which caters for students who have moderate to severe learning difficulties. There are currently 100 students at the main site. The school follows a primary model and is designed to meet individual educational needs and develop social and personal skills. The curriculum is organised to give students the opportunity to experience and explore different subjects. We provide high quality education and care and students have access to a range of therapies, multi-agency professionals and a team of therapists who support students’ needs. We offer an excellent training package for staff together with a fantastic opportunity to become part of an innovative and forward thinking team who are providing a therapeutic and unique learning environment for its pupils.
