ASCAT was established as a Trust within the Diocese in 2012, initially with St Joan of Arc Catholic School as the only academy. Following the development of the Diocesan Academy Programme, and partnership work with schools within the local deanery over several years, ASCAT welcomed three primary schools into the Trust in May 2019, and has plans to expand significantly as it embraces Catholic schools over the next two years.
