Amethyst Academies Trust is seeking to appoint an exceptional Chief Executive Officer to lead the next stage of our development. This is a significant opportunity to serve a values-led family of schools with a strong commitment to inclusion, ambition and high-quality education for every child and young person.

We are looking for a credible, strategic and relational leader who can work effectively with trustees, school leaders and central teams to translate vision into sustained impact. The successful candidate will bring strong educational judgement, secure understanding of governance and accountability, and the ability to lead improvement, sustainability and growth with clarity and integrity.

As CEO, you will be accountable to the Board of Trustees for the strategic leadership of the trust and, as Accounting Officer, for ensuring regularity, propriety, value for money and effective systems of control. You will build on our existing strengths while leading the trust’s next phase with pace, discipline and moral purpose.

Amethyst Academies Trust is a growing family of schools serving communities across Wolverhampton and Telford. With an annual turnover of approximately £40 million and a workforce of more than 600 staff, the Trust provides education across a diverse range of settings.

Our schools include mainstream secondary provision, specialist provision and a shared Wolverhampton-based Sixth Form serving both Aldersley High School and Moreton School. This breadth of provision is one of the Trust’s defining strengths: it gives Amethyst a rich understanding of different learner pathways, the importance of inclusion, and the need for high expectations across a diverse range of contexts. Each school has its own identity and

community, while benefiting from the shared values, governance, central services and school improvement support of the wider Trust.

Our current family of schools includes Aldersley High School and Moreton School in Wolverhampton, Telford Park School in Telford, and specialist provision through Tettenhall Wood School and Penn Hall School. Together, these schools serve a broad and diverse pupil population, including young people in mainstream secondary education, sixth form learners, and pupils with a wide range of special educational needs and disabilities. This gives the Trust a distinctive role in supporting inclusive pathways from early years to secondary education into post-16 study, preparation for adulthood,independenceand wider community participation.

Each school brings its own strengths, local relationships and improvement priorities. The next CEO will need to value this individuality while strengthening the common systems, shared expectations and collaborative culture that enable all schools to benefit from being part of Amethyst. Candidates should understand that the Trust’s future success will depend on securing consistently strong outcomes, inclusive practice and leadership capacity across different contexts, while remaining responsive to the communities each school serves.
