Grade 6 Pay Point 9-10 (£25,187 - £25,589).

Full time - 37 hours per week, 52 weeks per year.

Temporary until 24 October 2025 to cover Maternity Leave

Monday to Friday: 08:00am - 16:00pm (inclusive of an unpaid lunch break)

Greystoke Primary School are looking to appoint a caring, enthusiastic and highly motivated Nursery Assistant to undertake duties for the provision of the care, safety and learning of the children in the Nursery Education Group, which is registered as a Nursery Education Provider and works within the Ofsted requirements.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • To ensure that the development and needs of all children attending the nursery are met through the implementation of the Foundation Stage curriculum and the guidance from birth to three matters; taking into account the SEN code of practice and an anti-bias approach
  • To understand child development and the importance of learning through play when planning activities for children
  • To keep appropriate records of the children’s progression in accordance with the Data Protection Act
  • To work in a flexible manner to ensure that all the needs of the children and their families are met
  • To actively support the development and review of all nursery policies and procedures

We are looking for someone who has:

  • NVQ 3 or equivalent in Childcare or equivalent
  • Experience of working with children under five.
  • Experience of working with children and families with Special Educational Needs
  • Knowledge and understanding of the National Standards and any other relevant legislation within an inclusive framework
  • Experience of working in a community-based setting

Greystoke Primary School is a Good-rated school based in Narborough: a large village and civil parish in the Blaby district of Leicestershire, located around 6 miles south-west of Leicester. Our school enjoys the quiet of a small suburb whilst being well -connected to Leicester City with Fosse Park being a short car ride away.

The school has an extensive range of facilities and include: extensive grounds with a large woodland area, exciting play areas which include sports equipment and play spaces suitable for different ages. The school also boasts an on-site swimming pool that children in EYFS through to Year 4 swim every week.

Greystoke runs a popular nursery provision which caters for three year olds as well as a daily Wrap around Care provision before and after school. All children are encouraged to reach their full potential and play an active part in the school.
