What skills and experience we're looking for
Learning without Limits is a Trust with high ambitions for its learners and we are excited to be appointing a Trust Payroll Officer to help us on our journey. This role will be key to delivering an exceptional and compliant payroll service for our employees.
Reporting to the Trust Finance Manager you will be the Trust point of contract for all matters relating to payroll and pensions, responsible for the prompt and accurate processing of all related data using both internal and external systems.
To be successful in this post you will bring with you a proven track record in payroll, ideally in an education context, and have a high level of emotional intelligence and professional curiosity to provide an exemplary payroll service.
You will be based at our Trust Offices located at Lancaster Academy, south of the City. An integral part of our central team, you will be working alongside a variety of people in a fast paced but supportive environment and will demonstrate a willingness to go over and above in support of your colleagues.

You will:
- Have at least 2 years experience working in a similar role, ideally in education
- Hold, or be working towards, a relevant qualification
- Have the ability and confidence to support staff with payroll and pension queries
- Be able to work accurately while meeting key deadlines
- Have up to date working knowledge of current payroll and pension legislation
- Have an understanding of working in accordance with the Academy Financial Handbook
- Be solution focused and proactive; willing to seek out new ways of working
- Have strong IT skills and confidence to use various software systems efficiently and effectively
