Someone who is able to plan lessons based upon assessment and professional knowledge of what pupils do not understand.

A desire to develop own ability as a primary age range teacher, rather than only wanting to always teach one particular phase or year group.

An understanding of Rosenshine's Principles of Instruction and the importance of cognitive science.

A sound knowledge of the National Curriculum and Development Matters.

A willingness to work on feedback and a confidence to try out new teaching strategies.

Creative and stimulating teaching strategies which engage and motivate pupils.

Professional interpersonal and communication skills.

Someone who is tidy and well organised.

Someone who will 'go the extra mile' for their class and the school.

The ability to work well with teaching assistants, using their skills to develop a great classroom ethos.

Someone who is committed to high standards of presentation.

Someone who has the highest expectations for behaviour.

A creative individual, with curriculum passions.

An ability to engage in self-reflection, seeking feedback from the headteacher.

Further details about the role

This role is for a part time class teacher for a mixed age class, sharing the job with a more experienced teacher.

The successful candidate will be employed for 2.5 days per week, Wednesday afternoon to Friday, (0.5 FTE).

Visits to the school are a must. Please email headteacher@thomasbarnes.staffs.sch.uk to arrange one.
