Class Teacher 0.6 FTE job summary

Kingsteignton School are seeking to appoint an excellent class teacher who is committed to raising attainment and improving outcomes for children.

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a supportive staff team, who are part of the Education South West multi-academy trust. The successful candidate will prioritise building strong relationships and connections with both children and adults alike and will have the vision, passion and drive to achieve excellent outcomes for all pupils. They will model a positive outlook on a daily basis and will encourage all children to aspire and ‘dream big’.

The successful applicant will:

Have a passion for inspiring learners through exciting and innovative curriculum experiences.

Have high expectations of themselves and their pupils, modelling aspiration in their daily being.

Be keen to engender a calm sense of support, nurture and care for our children.

Demonstrate resilience and determination to ensure our provision is of the highest standard.

Have completed their ECT years.

This post is a term-long post for the Autumn Term only.

This role requires the ability to fulfil all spoken aspects of the role with confidence and fluency in English.

Kingsteignton School is a free school which opened its doors in September 2016

The new build school is state of the art with a very high specification, particularly in terms of technology and is situated on the outskirts of Kingsteignton.

The school, at present, has 225 pupils.

The school has recently become part of a wider community of schools – Education South West Trust.

Kingsteignton School is a ‘dementia – friendly’ school and, as part of this, we are very keen to develop healthy lifestyles for all our children and staff including growing and cooking our own home-grown food and embracing regular and varied exercise to keep physically and also mentally fit. As part of our dementia friendly ethos we are also very keen to embrace the use of the outdoor environment in as many areas of the curriculum as is possible.
