Class Teacher job summary
Bedford Inclusive Learning and Training Trust (BILTT) has expanded its provision based at Rivertree Free School, our newly built, state-of-the-art facility, which officially opened in February 2025. Rivertree joined the others in our Trust providing education to pupils with special educational needs and disabilities.
Our Academies, supported by the Trust, provide an environment which is welcoming, nurturing, calm, safe and purposeful. BILTT’s vision is to continue to develop a high performing SEND Multi Academy Trust that delivers the very best educational experiences for pupils regardless of their starting points.
As Rivertree Free School welcomed an increasing pupil cohort in September 2026, we are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Class Teacher to join our school community.
We are looking for someone who is passionate about working with children with special educational needs and can contribute to a collaborative team, sharing knowledge and best practices to improve pupil outcomes.
The successful applicant will play a key role in delivering high-quality teaching and learning to pupils in a nurturing, inclusive environment for children with autism, profound and multiple learning difficulties, complex medical needs, and severe learning difficulties. All pupils have Education, Health, and Care Plans (EHCPs), and the Class Teacher will be responsible for designing and delivering personalised, engaging lessons that support each pupil’s individual needs and development.
Working closely with teaching assistants, therapists, and other professionals, the Class Teacher will create a safe, supportive, and inspiring classroom where every child can access the curriculum, build essential skills, and thrive.
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) is essential, along with experience of working with children or young people with special educational needs. A strong understanding of inclusive practices and a commitment to child-centred learning are key.
If you would like to be part of shaping and growing our fabulous new school, please apply via MyNewTerm. If you would like to learn more, please contact us for an informal conversation. Visits to the school are welcomed and encouraged.
