Reception Class Teacher
Start Date: September 2026
Contract: Full-time, permanent Salary: Fringe Main Pay Scale (£34,398 - £46,839) Location: Hampshire
Are you ready to be the spark that starts a lifelong love of learning?
We aren’t your average school and we aren’t looking for an average teacher. Situated in a challenging but incredibly rewarding area of Hampshire (but paid as Surrey Fringe), our nursery and infant school is a place where Quality First Teaching meets a whole lot of heart. We know that for our children, a great Reception teacher doesn’t just teach phonics—they change life trajectories.
Why join us?
We work hard and we go the extra mile because our children deserve it, but we also know that you can’t pour from an empty cup. We offer a culture that actually walks the talk on wellbeing:
Real Flexibility: Want to see your own child’s nativity or special assembly? We’ll make it happen.
PPA from Home: Get your planning and assessment done in your slippers.
A True Team: We chip in, look out for each other and socialise together. We realise there is much more to life than just work.
The Fun Factor: From dressing up days to winning prizes, we believe school should be a place of joy for staff as much as the pupils.
Career Growth: Whether you are an ECT or an experienced hand, we offer training opportunities and support to gain further qualifications to help you climb the ladder.
The Role
You will be responsible for creating a stimulating, Quality First environment where every child feels safe to explore and grow. You’ll plan an exciting curriculum that ensures all pupils, including those with additional needs, make maximum progress.
We are looking for someone who:
Holds QTS and has a genuine passion for early years.
Can manage a classroom with praise, rewards and a positive ethos.
Is a team player who is happy to lead a curriculum subject and share expertise.
Is committed to safeguarding and the welfare of every child.
How to Apply
If you want to work somewhere where you are valued as a person, not just a practitioner, we would love to meet you. We welcome applications from both Early Career Teachers (ECTs) and experienced staff.

On behalf of the Trust, local governing committee and staff team, I would like to extend a very warm welcome to Farnborough Grange Nursery / Infant School, where we are committed to giving children the skills, knowledge and confidence they need to succeed in later life.
We are a Church of England affiliated academy based in North Hampshire, part of The Good Shepherd Trust family, for children from 4 to 7 years old.. We also have a nursery which welcomes children from 2 years old.
At the heart of everything that we do are the children. The years they spend with us are an extremely precious time of enormous growth and change. We seek to make every opportunity a learning experience and harness the value out of every moment of every day. You will see from much of the content of this website, how central the children are and what fantastic ambassadors they are for the younger generation. As a school community, we are proud to provide a happy, positive environment where the children have the aspiration and self-belief to achieve their goals, whatever they may be.
Although learning is our core purpose, so is friendship, challenge, exploration and collaboration. It is our role to ensure that every child who passes through our school, has the nursery and infant school experience that they richly deserve.
We know that every child has the capacity for success and we have tailored our enquiry-based curriculum to enable our children to learn about the world around them, trying a wide variety of experiences and discovering and succeeding in their own talents and passions.
This website aims to give you a taste of the school, as well as providing regularly updated information for both pupils and parents. You can view our virtual school tour here.
We hope that you enjoy your visit to our website and that you get a taste of our whole-school ethos. If you would like to see the school in session, or if you have any queries, please contact the school office.
Thank you for visiting!
