Additional allowances

SEN 1 allowance of £2,787per annum is payable on appointment. SEN 2 allowance of £5,497 per annum is payable following the acquisition of a level 4 qualification in the field.

What skills and experience we're looking for

We are seeking a Class Teacher who has the drive, creativity and a passion for teaching and learning to join our dedicated and welcoming team. In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to make a lasting impact on the lives of children with additional needs, delivering tailored lessons that support and inspire every child to achieve their full potential. Experience of working with pupils with SEN is desirable but not essential. What is imperative is that you have high expectations, a sense of humour, a love of challenge and a determination to make a difference to the lives of our fantastic children.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver high-quality teaching to meet the diverse needs of pupils.

  • Promote a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment for all pupils

  • Support colleagues and contribute to the development of teaching and learning across the school.

  • Contribute to school initiatives and activities to support overall school improvement.

KeyRequirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with experience or interest in teaching pupils with special educational needs (SEN).

  • Strong organisational and communication skills.

  • Ability to work collaboratively with staff, pupils, parents, and external agencies.

  • Commitment to creating an inclusive, supportive, and nurturing learning environment.

  • Flexibility, resilience, and a dedication to achieving positive outcomes for pupils with complex learning needs.

Dysart School is an Outstanding special school for 150 pupils aged 4 to 19 who have a range of severe and complex learning difficulties. The school has high expectations for its pupils and believe there is no limit to their potential.
